Q. Do you take insurance?
A. We accept most major insurance plans. We also participate with Delta, Humana, Cigna, BCBS.
We highly recommended you familiarize yourself with all of your insurance plans restrictions and benefits. We will make sure we provide as much information as we can, but remember your plan is a contract with you and your insurance company.
Q. What about fees?
A. We will provide a treatment plan with an estimate of all fees, estimated insurance coverage, and balances for you.
Please do not hesitate to ask about the anticipated cost of your treatment. You have the right to know about and understand our charges. We want you to feel that you have been treated fairly.
It is also important to keep in mind that the term “Dental Insurance” is misleading. It is more correctly termed “Dental Benefits.” Dental Benefits are not intended to pay for everything, but to instead assist with costs of dental treatment. Generally dental benefits pay a percentage of each procedure up to a set yearly maximum. The benefits available to you are established by which plan you are on or which plan your employer has purchased.
Q. I’m anxious about going to the dentist. Can you help?
A. Dental visits can be a source of anxiety. Your comfort while you are in our office receiving dental treatment is a priority for us. We want to minimize the amount of stress you might experience. We provide dentistry in a spa atmosphere (aromatherapy, soothing music, fountains, paraffin hand treatments and hot towels). We pamper you. It’s enough to make you forget you’re at the dentist. Fortunately, we’re not offended. This concept provides a more comfortable atmosphere which allows better relaxation and an overall feeling of well being.
Personal attention and concern are always in the best interest of our patients. You deserve gentle, personalized care, and so does each member of your family. We spend extra time to get to know you and answer your questions – helping you feel comfortable with your dental care.
Q. How do you bill?
A. We will bill your carrier for all work performed that is covered under your plan. Any co-payments and deductibles are required to be paid at the time the service is rendered. If you still have a balance after your insurance has paid, we will mail a statement to you. Statements are mailed when insurance payments are received and/or at the end of every month.
If you are a cash patient, we ask that payment be received at the time of service. We accept VISA, MasterCard, Discover, American Express as well as personal checks and cash. We also offer Care Credit (3rd Party Billing) through GE Money Bank.
Q. Do you follow current guidelines for sterilization and safety?
A. Yes we are up-to-date on all sterilization and disinfecting techniques. We follow all recommendations and requirements of the governing bodies of North Carolina state, including OSHA guidelines. We regularly attend continuing education courses to update our systems and procedures for providing a safe, clean environment for our patients and our dental team.
Q. What if my insurance carrier will not cover something that has been recommended by the dentist?
A. It is our obligation to provide the best dentistry for you. To do this, it is important that we do not allow dental benefits to be determining factor in our diagnosis. Your treatment plan will be based upon your needs after Dr. Kilgore’s clinical exam. It is important that we do not allow dental insurance carriers to dictate our treatment and tell us what they believe is the best care for you. Our primary concern, as we hope yours is, is to maintain your dental health.
Q. I’m ready to set up an appointment, what next?
A. Call our office at 252.637.1919 and they we will assist you with scheduling an appointment.
